Frequently asked questions

How do I get one image per second from a video?
Set the rate to one frame per second and extract. You get one still for each second of the clip, numbered in order, which is the usual setting for a quick storyboard or a contact sheet without thousands of near-identical images.
PNG or JPG, which should I pick?
PNG gives a lossless image with the sharpest detail, ideal when you will edit or print a frame, but the files are larger. JPG is much smaller and fine for previews, thumbnails and storyboards. Pick PNG for quality and JPG for size.
Can I extract every single frame?
Yes, set the rate to capture every frame, but note that a normal clip runs at 24 to 60 frames a second, so even a short video produces a lot of images. For most uses a lower rate gives a manageable set; full-frame extraction is best kept for very short clips.
Will there be a watermark?
No. The output is your video, untouched apart from the change you asked for. There is no watermark, no logo and no overlay, and there is no paid tier to remove one.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your video is read and processed on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored.
